Our services include a range of ecology, landscape and arboricutural surveys conducted by experienced surveyors using current best practice guidelines. For more information, please click on the headings below or on the links at the side.
Ecology surveys are required by planning authorities where a proposed development may impact wildlife. The findings are published in reports and submitted to local planning authorities, allowing them to make an informed decision of the proposed development on biodiversity. We offer a wide range of ecological surveys from Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (“PEA”), to Protected Species Surveys, European Protected Species (“EPS”) Mitigation Licences and Ecological Management Plans and Method Statements. Our surveyors hold a variety of Natural England species survey licences and have extensive experience in conducting a wide range of Protected Species Surveys.
Landscape surveys may be required by planning authorities where a proposed development may have a visual impact on the surrounding landscape. We appraise impacts based on the latest guidance from the Landscape Institute (LI) and the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), taking into account all relevant government policies and guidelines. We focus predominantly on Landscape and Visual Assessments and Landscape and Planting Designs.
We have seen an increase in the requirements of local authority planners with respect to consideration of trees in relation to building projects. Greenlight can advise on the arboricultural aspects of a proposed development as a separate service, or in concert with the ecology and landscape aspects of a site. All surveys and reports are completed by LANTRA qualified tree inspectors and tree climbers. We focus predominantly on Tree Surveys, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements.
