New Recruit: An Assistant Ecologist Joins the Greenlight Team

Greenlight are pleased to announce that we are continuing to expand as a new recruit has joined the team this year. Here is a profile on Ebonie Lambo-Hills, our new Assistant Ecologist:

All About the New Recruit Ebonie

Previous Ecology Experience

Previously, Ebonie worked as a forest ranger for a holiday park within Thetford Forest. Alongside running a range of educational experiences for the park visitors, she also monitored species on-site and performed grounds management to maintain vital habitats.

Ebonie has a BSc in Land-Based Sciences and completed her MSc in Ecology and Conservation last year. With her main skills being both plant and bird identification, we are looking forward to using these abilities in our work.

Assistant Ecologist Job Role

As an Assistant Ecologist, Ebonie will be responsible for conducting preliminary surveys and generating detailed reports.

“I hope that I will be able use my expertise to solve as many complex environmental problems as possible.”

As well as this, she will also be working towards her Level 1 and Level 2 Bat License, plus her Level 1 Great Crested Newt License.

Ebonie’s Hobbies and Ambitions

When asking Ebonie what she would like to get out of this new job, she expressed that she would love to increase her knowledge of the British wildlife. Not only this, but to learn more about the methods used to help mitigate and protect some of our native species.

During her spare time, Ebonie loves to regularly ride her 2 horses. Other hobbies include regularly assisting in surveying nesting nightjars within Thetford forest, during the summer months.

It’s safe to say that we’ve got another passionate environmental advocate on our team and we can’t wait to see what 2021 holds for every member of our team!
